Abstract

Due to the revolution of internet technology worldwide, the rapid use of mobile applications in various subject have increased in last few years and still increasing day by day. A good mobile application on traveling in the Dhaka City is today's demand for travelers or tourists of the home and abroad. Most of the people need Dhaka City Bus Service for their transport. They need information of these city buses. This project “Dhaka City Bus Info” is based on this concept of development of a mobile application on city buses with maps. Using this application, a prospective passenger can easily know which bus they should select to travel from one station to another station. They can also know the approximate fare, approximate distance, all possible routes, location maps, their current location, the route to go there, live route preview, distance and approximate time in their Android mobile devices with our application. They can also know the traffic police contact information, police box phone number, fire services number in caes of emergency and also information about shopping mall/center or market etc. In this project, we have studied, analyzed, designed and implemented an intracity Bus Route Finder system for the mega city Dhaka. People will get the idea from long back where exactly they are going and how to go there. Although the user will be a total stranger in an overcrowded city like Dhaka, they will feel confident traveling around the city on their own, without looking for anyone to guide them through phone or any other way. The intended project “Dhaka City Bus Info” is targeted to facilitate newcomers and travelers by giving information and location maps using a mobile application within Dhaka, Bangladesh.
